About Tech Content Creation


My name is Elizabeth Kelley and my professional career spans 30+ years in sales and marketing of technical software products. I spent the first part of my career supporting and selling software products to fortune 500 companies. When the company I sold for acquired the rights to sell new software products from independent software developers, oftentimes I had to create the sales documents needed to take the product to a larger market. Responding to RFPs and RFQs helped me realize I had a knack for writing comprehensive technical sales and marketing documents.

I wasn't the only person who noticed that skill, and was soon asked to be a co-founder of a few software start-ups, creating from scratch all marketing materials needed to go-to-market (website, brochure, product name, domain name, trademark) oftentimes having to "get the material directly out of the head of the lead developer" and pursue street-smart marketing tactics. One of those companies sold for a nice sum back in the dot.com heyday, enabling me to take some time off and go back for my MBA. I recall having to petition the Dean in order to be allowed to take a class titled "Strategic Management of Technology and Innovation" as an elective, since the class was in the MIS program, not the MBA program. I was the only business person in the class which astonished and intimidated me, but I earned a GPA of 95.8%, which solidified to me that I knew the subject matter at an MBA level.

In light of these challenging times, I've decided to transition my career to freelance techincal marketing content creation, with a focus on the cybersecurity, robotic, AI, knowledge management, and special library industries, and offer a sample portfolio of my work over the years on this website for your review.
